Crown
football club of Ogbomoso are through to the final of this year's Oyo State
federation cup after defeating hard-fighting Tigers Football Club 5-2 in the
semi final clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Wednesday.
The club's new revelation Peter Micheal opened
the scoring spree in the 13 minutes to pave ways for others who
got the job done. The military boys
capitalised on the laxity of defence line to put a double behind Crown's
goalkeeper, Raji Lateef.
The Tigers
defeated Crown's baby team on Thursday at the Ebedi stadium to set up Wednesday’s
semifinal clash just as the Ajilete Warriors
had a bumpy ride in a quarter final tie against Mocdim FC last Thursday at the
same venue.
Crown FC is
yet to know its final opponent for Sunday's encounter, since the club's FA Cup
arch rivals Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan are having two
outstanding games due to Nigeria Professional Football League duty.
The club's
technical manager, Fatai Osho frowned at the careless way the two goals were conceded
but said he was satisfied with the outcome of the match.
He stressed
that the final is nothing compared with the hunger of campaigning at the
country's oldest tournament, insisting that his wards would raise their game
ahead of the challenges.
The Oyo State
FA cup final has been tentatively fixed for Sunday 3rd April, 2016.
