The
midfielder who scored the game's first goal in the 14th minute with a well
taken curler saw his effort cancelled seven minutes later by Godwin Aguda
before Chisom Egbuchulam's 37th minute volley gave Rangers the lead and
ultimately, victory.
Reacting to
the defeat, Enyimba's first to Rangers since 2013, Osadiaye told EnyimbaFC.net:
"We played well and deserved to get something out of the game. Rangers are
a good team but I believe we had a good game here in Enugu and should have
gotten at least a point."
Osadiaye was
on hand on Thursday in Umuahia to give Enyimba a slim 1-0 victory over a tough
Plateau United and that victory, he says, was important going into Sunday's
derby.
"It was
important for our team to win Plateau United. It boosted our morale. We came to
Enugu full of assurance that we could get a victory here too. It's very sad
that we did not. Now it's time to prepare for the next game and pray that
things work out well for us."
When asked
about his two goals for his new club, Osadiaye responded cheerfully.
"I
thank God for the two goals. Enyimba is a team where you have to give your best
every day so I am happy that I've scored two goals, it's not easy. The last game
was hard and so too was the Rangers game. Hopefully I would score many more so
we can win lots of matches," he said with a playful smile and a wink.
On
Wednesday, Enyimba would host Sunshine Stars in a rescheduled Matchday 2 tie
before moving to Port Harcourt to prepare for Sunday's massive CAF Champions
League second round first leg fixture against Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel.
