Sluis promises ‘total football’ at Warri Wolves

Newly appointed Warri Wolves technical adviser Ard Sluis is promising ‘total football' for the Seasiders after he was unveiled on Friday at the Royal Nibo Hotel, in Warri.

At his unveiling on Friday, Sluis said his tactics would based on total football as he paid tribute to late Johan Cruyff who was referred to as father of modern day football.
 

The 50-year-old tactician also revealed that his immediate concern is how to ensure that the team starts scoring goals and winning matches.


"I want to thank the management of Warri Wolves for giving me the opportunity to work with the team and I will  play total football which is the concept of the likes of late Johan Cruyff  and former Super Eagles coach Clemens Westerhof whom his one of my mentors,” Sluis said at his unveiling.

On his part, the club’s chairman Moses Etu assured the new technical adviser of total support to succeed as he charged all Warri Wolves stakeholder to forgive the team for crashing out of the CAF Champions League but work with the present technical crew and management in ensuring that the set target for the season is achieved.


Sluis's first assignment in charge of the team will be against Lobi Stars of Makurdi in a week nine of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday at Warri Stadium.
