Rangers eye league summit

Rangers international FC of Enugu has set their sight on getting to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League with the aim of beating Akwa United in a match day seven tie at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes occupy 2nd position on the league table with 11 points out of possible 18 points after six matches played so far.

The coach Imama Amapakabo young lads secured a vital away point in an oriental clash against Abia Warriors at Umuahia on Sunday  after holding the host to a 2- 2 draw.
The club’s Director of Media, Foster Chime said that his boys are ready and determined to give all their best for the team.

Chime added that Rangers’ impressive run so far in the league will ginger the team to reclaim the league position with Sunday’s victory.

He added that the team’s fans are happy with their performances and Sunday’s game is expected to witness a large turnout of spectators.

“Definitely the boys are really doing well for the club. We have younger players who are committed and focused. They are not distracted with money but they are ready to make name for themselves by winning silverware with the club this season,” Chime said.

The media manager also revealed that the club’s General Manager, Ozor Paul Chibuzor, is making serious efforts to pay players two match bonuses before Sunday’s game against Akwa United.

“The draw against Abia Warriors is a good achievement for the team. So the GM wants to motivate them by paying them one or two match bonuses before Sunday’s game,” he said.
