The
management of Warri Wolves has appointed Ard Sluis as the technical adviser of
the team.
According to
our source, Sluis signed his contact on Thursday in Asaba and he will be unveiled
at a ceremony today by 6pm in Warri.
Sluis, a
Dutch national, was handling a football team in the United State of America
(USA) before his appointment.
It was gathered that Sluis has been in Asaba since last week and he was with the team
in Uyo for their week 8 of the Nigeria Professional Football League game (NPFL) against
Akwa United. He is expected to join the team at their Warri camp this weekend.
The management is expected to name his assistants at a later date while
thanking the former technical crew led by coach Peter Nieketien for a job well
done.
“The
management wants to thank the present coach for all the positive and team
spirit he was able to bring to the team while he was with Warri Wolves. The new
coach resumes immediately. He signed his contract on Thursday in
Asaba before a formal unveiling today (Friday). He watched our last game against
Akwa United in Uyo and he was impressed with the team. The job ahead of him is
to re-positioning the team to the greater height, an inside source told SportingLife.
Meanwhile, the Seasiders has parted ways with the club's Secretary Lawrence. It was gathered that Lawrence has been deployed to the Ministry of Sports in Asaba.
