CLUB OWNERS THREATEN: No NNL election, no league kick-off

Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOM) have resolved that the 2015/2016 league season will not commence until the election into the board of the NNL are conducted.


The club managers stated this in a communique released after its meeting held on the 8th of March, 2016, at the Women Development Centre, Committee Room 1, Abuja.

The meeting also agreed that only duly endorsed by any of the clubs and from the existing Board members as well as the existing Board of Directors of the NNL, as registered with the CAC, will be eligible to contest the elections into the Board of the NNL.

It further said that all the members are to go and study the various recommendations of Governance Structure put forward and submit their opinions and recommendations for a choice of one acceptable structure that will be presented to the Ad-hoc Committee for processing.

The board also passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the way they have been handling the administration of football in the country thus far.

The meeting also urged the NFF to put all machineries in motion to ensure that all the Nigeria National Teams qualify for all their major tournaments, especially the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons and wished them luck.

That the meeting also unanimously elected an interim Executive Board of the Club Owners and Managers Association pending elections into the Board of the NNL:

Mr. Emmanuel Ibah (Akwa Starlets) -            General Coordinator
